We believe that every child has enormous gifts to offer. As parents, we try to teach by example the importance of unconditional love, honesty, respect and generosity. We think kids should be encouraged to pursue their own creative interests and believe that anything they can dream is possible. We spend a lot of our time with Matthew on fun projects he has come up with. We both love to help out at his school and are volunteer teachers in his Sunday school class. We are a very close family - our favorite times are when we are together, no matter what we are doing. Our home is filled with love and caring as well as lots of kisses and hugs for each other. We very much look forward to sharing our hugs and kisses with another child.
We are blessed with very close family and friends around us. We have 15 nieces and nephews and a very close extended family. Chuck has one brother and two sisters and Katie has three brothers and two sisters. Both our parents are in good health and we get together often. Our frequent family visits are child-centered and joyous. We have many good friendships. We enjoy having BBQ's and swim parties at our home. Katie and Matthew also arrange frequent playdates with friends and their children. We are very involved in our church and have made many close friendships while volunteering in various activities there. Everyone around us is very excited and supportive of our decision to become adoptive parents.
We live in a spacious home in San Gabriel, California, with room for our family to grow. We have a wonderful yard with a swing, sandbox, play kitchen, treehouse and swimming pool surrounded by a garden. Playing together and with the dogs at home is our favorite activity. We also love riding our bikes or taking walks in our quiet and friendly neighborhood. We make frequent visits to the LA Zoo, Disneyland, Palm Springs and to the many beautiful parks near our home.
Our education has provided us with the foundation we have needed to be successful. Chuck is an Architect and entepreneur and is very successful. Chuck's work allows him to create his schedule so that he can be with us a lot, and he works from home. Katie has her own part-time computer consulting business which allows her the freedom to be a stay-at-home mom. We love participating in Matthew's education both at home and at school and we look forward to doing the same with our next child.
