| He ran to the corner of the dance hall and crouched down there until the disco finishes. "I told you she wouldn't like you unless you had a car!" James looked up. "Sapphire" he said. "Don't you rememember?" Sapphire asked him. "Remember when I asked Mattie to the disco with me and he said, "I'm hoping to go with Emerald" I said, "Well if you've got a car you'll be fine!!" She only cares about how good your car is!" James thought about what Sapphire had said. "Look, do you want to go home?" James nodded his head. "OK! Be ready to sneak out while I cause a distraction!" James moved to a more crowded part of the dance floor. Sapphire made a really realistic fainting act. Nobody glanced at her. On the floor she opened her eyes and yelled: "Hey! I'm fainting over here!" Just before everyone turned to look she made a thumbs up sign to James and he fled. James woke up in his bedroom. He suddenly remembered the happenings of last night at the Disco. He put on his school uniform. Grey trousers, white shirt, striped tie and navy blue blazer. He rushed down stairs and told his grandparents that he had a project to work on in school. He ran all the way to school. He was panting for breath when he arrived. He saw Mattie and Charlie. "Hey Mattie! Charlie!" James yelled after them. "Erm...Hello,! said Charlie uneasily. "Err...Hi," said Mattie super uneasily. "You haven't forgotten about last night have you?" asked James. "Err... No." they said together, Charlie looking at his feet and Mattie not making eye contact. James' heart sank. He thought his mates would put this behind them. Then he saw Emerald and her friends laughing and pointing at him. James' school life would never be the same again. His friends had ditched him. He had giggling girls after him. The only comfort he had was that he could go to the boys' room and the library without girls giggling behind him. In the school library was one of the most deathly silenced places in the world! James went there every break time to escape the giggling girls. One friday the Harry Potter mad girls came into the library. "Hey Mia! Nat! The 5th Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, comes out on the 21st of June!! said a familiar voice. "Well this meetings over!" said Natty. "Mia remember to work on the Harry Potter website! OK?" "Ok Natty!" Mia replied. "Bye Sapphire!" "Bye you two!" Sapphire turned around and saw James. He was reading a car magazine. "Hey James!" she said brightly. "Hey," James said giving a strained smile. "Something's bothering you!" she sussed out. "Well...I haven't got any friends and giggling girls follow me everywhere!" he said. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! "Well I've got double potions!" said Sapphire "What?" Asked James, puzzled. "Sorry! I've just got Harry Potter on the brain!" she laughed. And with that she laughed and ran off to class. "At least I have one friend," James said to himself. ***** "Hey James!! James!!" Mattie yelled. "James!!" yelled Charlie, who was sitting away from the Professor Snape like teacher, Mr. Goole. "Over here!" This was odd! Charlie and Mattie had not spoken to James since the morning after the "Emerald" incident. "Hey," James said. "Where are Natty and Mia?" "I've dumped MIa. I think I'll try to get Sapphire to go with me!" Said Mattie with a grin. "Natty's in potions!" Charlie said. "That's what Sapphire said. Anyway why are you so friendly with me all of a sudden?" |
