D.J. was our ever so friendly 9 year old Cocker Spaniel. We inherited him when he was about 6 years old from our daughter. D.J. originally belonged to Melanie, but when she moved into an apartment in the "city", D.J. stayed with us to enjoy his fenced in backyard. After a short time, we became very attached to him and knew it would be difficult to
"give him back" to Melanie.
"D.J." was the name he had when Melanie and her friend adopted him from the SPCA. We aren't sure where the name came from, but we used to laugh and say
"Dumb Jerk", "Disc Jockey". "Dumb Jerk" he is not!!
There are times, when you'd think he was human! D.J. couldn't be fooled easily and when playing games with him, he always knew where the "treat" was hidden! He was very happy to show off his tricks - "shake" and he would shake with one paw or the other, "speak", "sit", and would even keep a treat on his nose for a second, and then tried to catch it. He loved to play catch with his tennis ball and sometimes could be seen walking around with it like a pacifier! D.J. always let us know whenever someone pulled in the driveway, even before we knew they were there! He proved to be our friend and watchdog!

Unfortunately, we lost D.J. suddenly to an unknown health problem a few years ago.
He will always remain "our special friend"!
We know D.J. is having fun with his other friends...
