| Slaughterhouse Island - Shasta County Located near the Sacramento Arm of Shasta Lake, the island is so named because a slaughterhouse once existed in the saddle between Slaughterhouse Island and the island south of it. That other island was eventually inundated by the lake's rising waters. |
