Resources and Partners
The best resources, although obvious, are the other staff at Hillel.  The staff here are phenominal and are very good at what they do.

In addition, I have learned to use the professors on campus.  Based on what type of function is being organized, it is extremely important to target the appropriate faculty members on campus.  For example, I advised Shulchan Ivrit (Hebrew table) and would constantly work with students on informing the Hebrew instructors of this weekly program.

Some key departments include:

Hebrew and Semetic Studies

Jewish Studies

Business School

It is also important to use the departmental resources.  I advised Jewish Business Venture (JBV) and utilized the speakers availaible through the Business Career Center.  They were more than happy to come speak for us at Hillel, because they were speaking to students; that's what they are here for.  (I have linked all the contact information for each of my student groups on its individual page.)

The most important resource is the students.  They are the most powerful voice to other students.  I have learned throughout this year the true importance of having students feel ownership of an event.  When students feel responsible for an event they tap all of their resources.

In terms of the University as a whole, the most important resource is the University home page at
www.wisc.edu In addition, the University operator can be reached at 608-262-1234.  For memorial union, any time you need to reserve something (e.g., a room, space for tabling etc.), you should call 680-262-2511

Outside of Madison, an excellent resource is the
Hillel International Center or Rhoda Weisman at the Center for Jewish Engagement at 323-761-8569.

Last, but not least, you can always reference the UW Hillel home page at
