The University of Wisconsin - Hillel Staff
Greg Steinberger: Greg supervises everyone.  He has a little bit of his hand in everything that happens at Hillel.  In addition, he works with the Hillel advisory board, the annual budget, any significant issue that arises in the Madison Jewish community…not to mention the his and Andrea’s two children, Abby and Emma.

Jamie Berman: Jamie directly supervises the two JCSC fellows.  In addition, she also coordinates our numerous major functions, such as the hectic Hillel sponsored speaking schedule merited from a visit from the celebrity Ben Stein.  She also keeps the entire staff organized and on task, in order to continue Hillel on a path of constant growth and improvement.  (She does all this without ever eating any food containing sugar!)

Rabbi Andrea Lerner (Steinberger): Andrea is constantly running around campus from one meeting to the next.  She consistently meets with students to help them with personal problems in life, teach them Hebrew, discuss the meaning of life or just greet them with a big smile and a friendly “hello.”  (She also splits the responsibility with Greg for the care and entertainment of their daughters, Abby and Emma.)

Matt Canter: Matt advises some of the student groups within Hillel, including the “Hillel Voice,” a bi-annual student publication.  In addition, he handles all of the public relations for Hillel, which…in this city and on a campus with two student newspaper is a tremendous task.  He also somehow remains more politically knowledgeable than is legal in some small European circles.

Jodie Gordon: Jodie, JCSC extraordinaire!  She advises many of the student organizations, including the Jewish Theatre Project.  In addition she of course, engages and empowers students.  She has decided to stay one more year as a Senior Fellow, and has used this as an opportunity to create a revolutionary program pairing up current students with incoming freshmen for orientation.  It is also noteworthy to mention that she consumes more coffee in one day, then the Eastern seaboard does in a month.

Matt Lowe: I also advise many of the student groups, including Shulchan Ivrit (Hebrew Table) and the Jewish Business Venture.  I advise the students and help them to program.  In addition, I work with Jodie to do "engagement" work, which you will undoubtedly learn much about through the fellowship curriculum.  We focus a lot of our "engagement" energy on first-year students as they are the most eager, however I believe it is important not to shun potential engagement students that are not the stereotypical freshmen.  I would also like to take this opportunity to promote Los Angeles, as one of the best places to visit, live, vacation, drive through think about, talk about...

Christina Zaleski: Chris keeps our office functioning.  Chris pays the bills, buys all the food and supplies, and is our resident handy-woman/jack of all trades.  Without her, I am sure the rest of us would fall into a bottomless pit confusion.

Brad Kahn: Brad cooks me…I mean everyone at Hillel food at least twice a week.  Often times more frequently.  During the first Passover Seder, he cooked as much food as the kitchen could possible produce to serve everyone who attended.  By eating his food, I have saved thousands on grocery bills this year.
