Animals: Do Your Jobs.
There is a worryingly fast growing problem in Britain of people treating their pets as though they were people, as oppose to the worthless objects which they really are. Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with keeping pets, they can be a ray of sunshine in the lives of lonely people and an outlet for the emotions that they can never share with fellow human beings.

My next door neighbour is a prime example of this, each morning when I'm lying in my bed I overhear her having lengthy discussions and arguements with her two dogs. Obvisouly she can't speak to the dogs so telling a dog to "sit" and other such tricks is fair enough, after all they can work after enough practise. However I fail to see how warning a dog that she'll "go and get Dad" or that they'll get no dinner is going to quell the dog's bad behaviour.

Much like small children the only discipline animals respond to is violence, a quick kick in the ribs or smack upside the head should get the point across, the same applies to animals. It begs the question "what is people's attatchment to these creatures?", when was the last time your pet contributed to the mounting household bills? Or spent it's hard earned cash on stupid play-things for your amusement? Of course not, it's too busy riding the gravy train that is the good will of pet-owning fools, getting all it's food and expenses paid for in exchange for buggar all.

Perhaps that is a bit overly cynical, but still, it is very annoying to see people failing to distinguish the difference between animal and child/friend/relative, give these things all the love in the world and they will repay you with a turd on the kitchen floor. You have been warned.
