the Spring break. Kiyone is reading, while Mihoshi is fast asleep on the couch. Tenchi's father
and grandfather are lounging in the living room, and Washu is in her lab, as usual, working
on...something.)
Ayeka: I'm so glad Tenchi is finally coming to see us!
Ryoko: You mean he's coming to see me!
Ayeka: Don't even think about it! Tenchi is mine, do you hear me? MINE!!
Ryoko: Yeah, right! In your dreams!!
(Sasami pokes her head out from the kitchen, just in time to stop another one of Ayeka
and Ryoko's cat fights.)
Sasami: Would you two keep it down? I'm trying to cook a delicious meal for everyone, and I
can't concentrate with people screaming at each other!
Kiyone: Yeah! And besides, Tenchi'll be here any minute now.
(Ryoko loosens her grip on Ayeka's throat. Someone knocks on the door. Ayeka and
Ryoko race to answer it, tripping all over one another in the process.)
Ryoko: I'm going to hug Tenchi first!
Ayeka: No, I am!!
(Sasami opens the door, and Ryo-ohki jumps from Sasami's shoulder onto Tenchi's.)
Ryo-ohki: Meow!!
Tenchi: Hi, Ryo-ohki! I'm so glad to see you again!
Sasami: Oh, Tenchi, I'm so happy you're back! (gives Tenchi a big hug)
Ayeka and Ryoko: (sweat-dropping and thinking) What about me??
Ryoko: (Whispering to Ayeka) Well, at least now that Tenchi's home, we don't have to worry
about that meddling girl Sakuya...
(Tenchi jumps as if something was poking him in the back.)
Tenchi: Oh, I brought a friend with me!
(Sakuya steps out from behind Tenchi and waves)
Sakuya: Hi guys! Remember me?
Ayeka: (plasters on a fake smile) Of course! How could we possibly forget you Sakuya?
Ryoko: (angrily) What is she doing here, Tenchi??
Tenchi: (not noticing the scowl on Ryoko's face) Well, since Sakuya doesn't have a family to go
home to, I said she'd be more than welcome here.
(A loud crash and then an explosion comes from Washu's Lab. Mihoshi wakes up with a
start.)
Mihoshi: What was that?!?
Kiyone: Sounds like Washu's up to something or other.
Ryoko: (groaning) What is it this time?
Sasami: You think she needs any help?
Tenchi: Maybe we should check on her, just in case. Stay here, Sakuya, we'll be right back!
(Everyone dashes to Washu's lab. They find Washu working hard on an oddly
familiar-looking object. She carefully arranges and twists wires and parts until finally she holds
it triumphantly in the air.)
Washu: At last! I've finally fixed my time-space controller!! (notices everybody staring at her
cluelessly) Hey, you're all here; this is great! Remember this?
Ryoko: Yeah, and all the trouble it caused us!
Ayeka: Why didn't you just get rid of that awful thing?
Washu: It's okay now. As long as it doesn't get into the wrong hands, we should be fine.
Mihoshi: Oooh! Look at all the pretty buttons it has! (She grabs the time-space controller. While
her hands are on it, several buttons are pushed. A huge cyclone of energy surrounds everyone
but Washu and Ryo-ohki, who have wisely stepped out of the way.)
Kiyone: Mihoshi, you baka! What did you do?
Sasami: Here we go again...
(Sakuya bursts through the door)
Sakuya: I heard strange sounds coming from here, so I came to see what was going o-AHHHH!
(Sakuya gets sucked into the cyclone just as it closes and they all disappear from Washu's
sight)
Washu: (checks the computer screen) Great, Mihoshi just got everyone into a real live soap
opera! (Looks at Ryo-ohki) Oh well, it sucks to be them.
Ryo-ohki: (nodding in agreement) Meow!
