Gilded Wings |
'Neath wings gilded by silver dreams are downy feathers untouched by the light fresh and new with an untarnished sheen they glow like a beacon at night. The down that is veiled by my skin's shroud is the innocence still left in my soul that part that has never ridden on clouds nor traveled down lonely, bleak roads. I've kept them all fresh unfettered by fear never exposed to a storm's hefty wind so that when the time is finally here they can come out at my journey's end. When I've succeeded at last in my quest the most amazing thing will happen that day at the end of my pursuit of happiness my feathers will come out to stay. I will spread my sings wide and to all I will show the beauty that was hidden beneath and every soul on this earth will then know that sometimes you just have to believe. |
