Singing Stars |
Lying is rest 'neath the smiling sun I listened to it's laughter While cheerful beds of waving flowers had me grinning at their chatter For quite some time the dancing clouds drew murals in the sky While the fluttering wings of hummingbirds rode on remnants of a sigh As nightfall came, a crispy scent drifted in on a delicate breeze The glowing horizon, stained with red was highlighted behind the trees The dusky sky held singing stars while the sun took it's nighttime nap I was cradled by their lullabyes when I heard the sandman's rap A smile formed on my contented face as I drifted off to sleep For I could hear those singing stars praying for my soul to keep |
