A mixture of indignities and unfounded accusations
there have been too many lies
none of them can see the fear and frustration
still, I wonder why

The anger grows, becoming enormous
too much to contain
it starts slowly, I know the cause
Yet, I maintain

Fear inside my heart, pulsing, yet covered
I cannot be revealed
they can't become a part of the pain that hovers
it must be contained

Why?  I ask.  What did I do?
to deserve this disgrace
I'll take you to task, but still I'm the fool
I can't hide my face

Pride goes before a fall, and I have fallen many times
as I try to stand
I hear them call, they repeat my crimes
tears on my hand
