The Watcher |
Imagine for just a moment you are a watcher of our race sent to see if humankind has developed inner grace As you listen to our voices rise would hear a joyful melody? Or would your ears be instead annointed by wails of abject misery? And as you looked upon our lives from your perch on heaven's gate would you see pictures of inspiration or murals of death, greed and hate? |

Would our children be happily laughing and learning to live in harmony? Or would their faces reflect great hunger and the horror of death on city streets? Yes, you are the watcher and as you look around would you find hope and faith seeing the homeless in shanty towns? Just how long would you sit there waiting for a simple sign that someday, someway, somehow peace will settle on human kind? Copywrite 2001 Maria G. Abernathey |
