Currently on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Xander gets over it, Willow and Tara get each other, Jonathan gets a backbone and Warren gets super strength and invulnerability until he doesn't. Andrew's subtext slips gently into maintext and he has a great "bwahahaha, Slayer until we meet again" speech. Then bad things happen and you just wanna go "damn".
I really hope you weren't expecting a blow by blow. Because it's not going to happen.
2) Joss' track record with GLBT characters is pretty bad. Let's see; four gay characters. 50% are dead, 25% are pathetic pawns and 25% are Willow. So, basically, the moral is if you're not Willow be straight.
3) Yeah, I'm angry.
4) All right. Four is not enough of a base to build an accurate statistical umm, statistic. But we're talking 50% mortality rate if you're gay.
5) Okay, let's look at it another way. Joss has had three characters who have consistently exhibitied maturity and the ability to give sound, adult advise. 67% dead, 33% left the country.
6) Sometimes you don't know how angry you are until you actually try to explain why you're angry.
7) Mortality rate on gay, mature characters. 100%
8) I'm just staying away from the whole Spike thing. The relationship between Buffy and Spike has been sick and twisted since "Fool For Love" last season and I'm taken aback that people seem surprised when Pavlov's dog drools when the bell rings.
9) And from around Sunnydale is a collective smack across the forhead as the demon population realized that they should have spent the money on guns instead of those axes and swords.
Xander: (continuing to forshadow) "I don't know what I'd do without you and Will.
