JINO: Jesus In New Orleans
“Prove yourselves to be doers of the word,”
“I will show you my faith by my works.”

JINO a New Orleans outreach involving youth and college students from churches/campus ministries across the South and from as far away as Nebraska. In 2004 services were centered around the Bywater church of Christ (Christian Outreach Ministry/Center).  In 2006, still in the wake of Katrina, the vision expanded to help other parts of N.O.
Sadly the extraordinary efforts of 2006 marked God's closing of JINO.

JINO was unique in that it was not entirely a work focused solely on service; a camp centered on a Spiritual goal; nor an evangelistic effort to the exception of all else. It is truly a blending of those Spiritual facets.
A glimpse of the effects of the destruction in New Orleans. This picture was taken in November. The water levels were still apparent on the buildings (left) from where the water stood during the flooding. Any building that had been worked on had mountains of gutted sheetrock and possessions lying out by the streets...
