One of Madonna's rare appearences during the "Don't Tell Me" Tour was at the Brixton Academy in London. 9 million viewers tuned in to msn.com and various other links around the world on November 28 and 29, 2000 to see a spectacular 29 minute concert featuring "Music"/"Don't Tell Me"/"Holiday" (backed by Donna and Niki)/"Runaway Lover"/"Impressive Instant" and "What It Feels Like For A Girl". Among the celebs in the audience was Australia's Kylie Minogue. Madonna recently wore a Kylie Minogue T-shirt at the Europe Music Awards. The two met and Madonna invited Kylie to the show. (Kylie has recently been seen wearing a Madonna t-shirt to thank the star!!) Madonna seems to be following the trend withg the "Slogan" t-shirts also featuring at the Brixton Academy with a Rocco t-shirt on....Lola was printed on the back. A Britney Spears top has emerged in the same design as the Kylie version and appears in the Mondino sessions. 3000 people were in attendance at yet another teaser for the whirlwind tour of 2001...coming soon!

Madonna is reportedly due to be back in Europe in October to promote her new album, a new collection a Greatest Hits from 1991-2000....maybe this squashes rumors of an Australian and Asian tour. The words came straight from the mouths of those on tour with the mega-star....the rumors are still strong about a March Australian tour...lets wait and see!!

The fantastic BMW Short Film Madonna played a part in will be released as a special DVD soon! BMW plan to make a packet out of the 5 short films which cost an estimated $20m to produce.

Madonna's Drowned World Tour extended to Florida over the weekend with Madonna celebrating her 43rd birthday on August 16. August 15, however saw Madonna on stage in Fort Lauderdale interrupted by a certain husband of hers sporting a birthday cake and singing "Happy Birthday" with Donna and Niki on backup vocals of course. Lenny Kravatz and Rosie O'Donnell both came to see Madonna perform in Florida. Madonna will not perform at this years MTV Video Music Awards...performances by J.Lo and Britney have been confirmed, but once again, Australia has to miss out on the free-to-air broadcast of the event. N*Sync, Missy Elliott and U2 are all part of the performer list whilst Macy Gray, Aaliyah, Nelly and Christofer Walken are all part of the presenter list. New Yorks Metropolitan Opera House will host the event on September 6, 2001.
September 10, 2001 - MAdonna lost on all nominations at the awards. With Best Song and Best Choreography in a Video...the nite was rather somber with a tribute to Aaliyah, the most memorable on the occasion. Good luck to Madonna for next year at the MTV Awards The MTV Tapes...check them out!!

Will the next single from "Music" be the release of "Amazing"...first the rumor was that it would be a UK only release, then the rumor was that it was definitely being released with Promos out and all. The next thing mavstar hears is that the promos had become hot itmes due to the fact that the single had been withdrawn. The latest news as at August 22, is that Madonna may release a double A side single (like Vogue/Kepp It Together) of Amazing/Impressive Instant....i think this is the best idea, given that Impressive Instant is a wonderful piece of work and deserves a release...

The Australian remastered albums True Blue, Like A Virgin and the original Madonna, are all out now! There were many rumors as to whether these would appear or not, now they are finally here with bonus tracks and all. All 3 albums come with two remixes tacked onto the end. Plus the version of "Everybody" on the Madonna album is the full length version you can find on the US 12"...they've changed a track completely. For those who appreciate Madonna it's a great 80's original Dub sound. Also just out in Australia only is the Limited Edition Tour Pack of "Music" featuring the already-withdrawn-from-sale-in-the-USA sleeve with the incorrect "R" rating for the What It Feels Like For A Girl video printed on the back. The Tour disc comes with a bonus disc full of remixes from "Music", "Don't Tell Me" and "What It Feels Like For a Girl".

Los Angeles is sporting a huge Madonna banner (up) on the corner of Sunset Plaza and Sunset Blvd. It is an ad for the August 26th show live from Detroit. The whole world is gearing up for the broadcast which will span over several countries on tv and radio...

There are now some grotty little condoms you can get your hands on with an unofficial Madonna box. The shot from 1979 (nudes) has featured on the box when the official photographer of the Madonna Nudes sold these shots to a condom and sex toy company two years ago. Madonna is reportedly unimpressed by this condom packet and is considering legal action.

There is quite a buzz as the live broadcast of The Drowned World Tour gets closer and closer. French fans have organised a party night plus the show will be broadcast on Frech and US radio stations. (thanx to madonna electronica for this pic of the French fans party) Apparently a HBO concert takes much work and promotion. Madonna has given a show to HBO 3 out of 5 times she has toured the world. Blonde Ambition and The Girlie Show were both part of the HBO concer series and Drowned World will be the biggest yet. With 22 cameras in perfect postitions, loads of extra lipstick in the make-up room and promotions going crazy, HBO are set for a huge night. Channel Nine in Australia has picked up the rights to the event screening the concert on Monday 27th August at 9:30pm. Channel Nine have used the HBO ads in promoting the concert and the ads are spectacular enough. More lighting has also been added for the Sunday show. Madonna is perfect for HBO, tells the President of the network. "Shes the biggest, shes an icon" says Nancy Geller. "She knows we'll give her the kind of marketing and promotion she needs"

R'nB singer, Aaliyah was found dead in a tragic plane crash on August 26, 2001. A sad end to a hopeful career. The plane went down after the 9 passangers insisted on carrying such a heavy load full of light rigs and baggage. Apparently the pilot tried to talk them out of flying with that load, they refused.

The Madonna collection album 2 will be released in Japan as a two cd set...it is available for pre-order already thru Esprit Mail Order company...the relaese date for this version of the album (which should also feature a typical-japanese Bonus Track) is November 2001! WBR has apparently not decided on a final track listing for the album, also denying that there will be new tracks at this point. Madonna also refuse to discuss the album until after the USA leg of the tour!! The Las Vegas show went well yesterday with Madonna teasing the audience, traditionally..

The HBO Special on August 26th was so popular the UK will release it on DVD on November 15th, 2001. The ratings in Australia were over 500,000 and USA 5.7 million viewers tuned in to Madonna! The DVD will feature extra things not on the special including backstage footage. No word on a US or an Australian release (check [mavstar australia] for more)

Madonna's Drowned World Tour is coming to a close and with that she seems to not-only be stripping down for the "Drowned World" performance but also dedicating songs to none other than Kevin Costner (at a recent LA show). Pictured left is Madonna in San Fransisco a few nights ago..Pictured right is Madonna in LA last night! A DVD of the HBO Show will be available from November 19 in the USA. An "Immaculate Remix" DVD will also be released overseas (not Australia at this stage) from Dan-O-Rama. The Remix Collection will also be available on VHS apparently and comes to us on December 01, 2001
