| Safe Room Problem Last week the DC gov't issued a warning for all persons in the DC metro area to buy plastic and duct tape so that they could seal off a room in their home in an effort to avoid exposure to contaminated air from chemical or biological terrorist attacks. In my Environmental and Occupational Health and Saftey Management class we have been discussing how long a family of three would live a safe room before they died of lack of oxygen. Given a small room (specific paramenters in document) and three family members. These are my predictions for how long they would survive. Here's my prediction for how many plants it would take to supply them with oxygen. |
