Name: Larry Morgan

Larry Morgan is a longtime professional drag racer with a long record of high performance. That's one of the several reasons why he is an excellent member of the Pro Stock Hemiā-powered Dodge R/T squad. Larry ignited his automotive enthusiasm when as a youngster, he worked at a service station and would join workmates at a local race track. He has been racing ever since.

The first indication that Larry Morgan had something special came last year at the Prolong Northwest Nationals at the Seattle International Raceway. It was there he took his Pro Stock Hemiā-powered Dodge R/T onto the track for only the second time, having debuted his new race car only a week earlier at the Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals.

"We were happy with what we learned and accomplished that weekend" Morgan said of the exciting introduction of his brand-new Pro Stock Dodge R/T with huge V-8 power under its hand. "We didn't have a great deal of time to test the new Dodge R/T on driving surfaces, but I think we started to get a handle on what the car wants. We're making a lot of horsepower with this new Hemiā."

Although horsepower is critical, driving ability is also key to drag racing success. Morgan, a native of Newark Ohio brings a wealth of experience in the highly competitive professional ranks to the Pro Stock division.

Over the years, Morgan has earned 15 NHM national event Pro Stock victories in 22 final-round appearances. He was the winner of the NHRA Pro Stock Challenge three times (1989. '90 and '92) and was runner-up twice ('93 and '95). In eight of the last 10 years, Morgan has finished in the Top 10 in (overall points.

In separate runs, Larry has a career-best quarter-mile elapsed time of 6.79 seconds and a blisteringly fast top speed of 202.94 mph. This outstanding performance suggests that Morgan has the know-how and the go-power to be extremely competitive in the NHRA Pro Stock wars. And the fact that he drives a Hemiā-powered Dodge R/T confirms it.
