For Antoine
Antoine is a fan of H. Beam Piper's Fuzzy books, the covers of which were painted by my favorite artist, Michael Whelan

This project is from a pattern I made myself based on Whelan's painting "Fuzzy Face."
The pattern was made with permission from the artist, and the pictures displayed here are also with his consent.

This project is a serious pain.  I think I was a little too ambitious for my own good.  The stitch count is only 100 X 167, but there are 200 DMC floss colors here, and I decided for some reason to take this opportunity to try over-one stitching.  The whole thing is being stitched with one strand of floss over one fabric thread on 32count pure Irish linen from Charles Craft.

Because of the incredibly tiny stitches, (more than 1000 per square inch) this photo was hard to get right.  When the project is finished I'll have Antoine take a nicer picture.
