A
couple of cousin's, Max and Ely, sit with Maxim as they keep an eye on
the work below. We visited the Smith farm one day when things
were happening. They had about 10 of the kids plus a couple
neighbor kids wiring down the reinforcement bar that was placed at the
bottom of a concrete cattle floor...or was it a holding tank for
manure? Uncle Frank said he was relieved because the kids
always beg for something they can do on the farm and with this
project, they finally found something.
Pretty soon, a truckload of
cement mix arrived. The lower pictures show Tom directing the
flow of the concrete and Mark smoothing the wet concrete with a
trowel.
A couple minutes later, a truck
arrived to pick up up a load of cattle headed for the slaughter house.
Before that truck left, another arrived with a truckload of new cattle
to take their places at the feed trough. Maxim and Ely (or Max)
are taking a peek at the cattle as they run off the truck.
Not five minutes later, a truck
came with a load of lumber that Tom unloaded into the shop for safe
keeping until it was needed. I thought there was a lot of
activity, but Tom said it was pretty normal. |
