Disclaimer: I don’t own any gundam stuff in any way, shape or form. I also don’t own the song “Right Turn” That belongs to either Lane Staley or Jerry Cantrell, the most awesome musicians I’ve ever heard. I’m not getting paid for this, and I’m poor anyway. Please don’t sue.
Right Turn
Inside, always tryin' to get back inside But it's so hard to penetrate pig-thick skin
Trowa slammed his fist into the wall. “If that idiot doctor doesn’t let me in to see Quatre soon I’m going to kidnap him and take him somewhere else.” Swearing under his breath, Trowa paced around the small lobby, ignoring the shocked looks he was getting. “If you don’t calm down they’re not going to let you in there at all. You brought him in. He’s on drugs and looks like he’s been beaten up. Do you really think they’re going to want someone who’s acting as upset as you are in there?” Rubbing her bloodshot eyes, Noin glared up at him. “Not to mention if you can’t go in, I can’t go in. You’ve told me ten million times that you won’t let me see him without you there, and I need to see him. I have to apologize. He took care of me, and I ignored how he felt. I didn’t even notice.” Brushing away tears, Noin resumed staring at the wall, lost in her own miserable thoughts.
I'm 'bout as low as I can get I'd leave but I can't forget Still I wonder why
It ain't right It ain't right It ain't right It ain't right
Quatre looked around in confusion as the gray walls around him swam and moved. “Where am I?” he wondered as the door suddenly opened and a doctor walked through. Ignoring Quatre’s obvious confusion, he paced over and inspected the patient’s pupils, making sure all the drugs were out of his system. “You’re a very lucky young man. A few more months of those pills, and there wouldn’t have been any way to help you.” Sitting down next to the bed, the doctor took Quatre’s pulse as he measured him with a steely gaze. “ Now, why don’t you tell me what happened to put you in this state? If you can remember that is….” “I don’t think I could ever forget.” Quatre said in a small voice. “That was the problem.. I couldn’t forget.”
As 'bout as low as she can get She'd leave me but she won't forget And she wonders why
She ain't right She ain't right It ain't right She ain't right
Watching Trowa take Quatre’s hand nearly broke Noin’s heart. Cradling it against his chest, Trowa’s tears fell softly against his love’s shocked face. Noin wondered why she even came. Quatre didn’t need her.. had never loved her. He had used her as a way to keep the media off of his back. Still, looking down at the wasted form, she had to admit she loved him.. even if she was wrong for doing so. Sinking into a nearby chair, she watched them carefully, ignoring the tears that ran down her face.
Now we're as low as we can get Can't leave and can't forget
We ain't right We ain't right We ain't right We ain't right...
“Trowa? Are you real?” Quatre trembled as he pulled his love closer, reaching up to kiss the white lips above him. As he realized that Trowa really was there, he started crying, forcing words through his sobs, hanging on to him for dear life. “I never thought you’d come back.. Not after you left like that…” Shaking, he suddenly pulled away, collapsing in upon himself. “But you left.. you didn’t want me anymore.. you left me….” Pulling Quatre into his arms, he ran his fingers through the limp blond hair. “I didn’t want to leave you darling, I had to go on a mission. The scientists wouldn’t let me come back and see you, or let you know where I was going. I went to an Oz training facility… I didn’t know it would take so long to infiltrate it.. By the time I had gotten the information out, the war was over.. and you had disappeared.. Oh Quatre.. I looked for you so long…” Lifting the wasted form from the bed, he gently tucked his koi onto his lap. “I’ll never let you go again. I swear you’re not getting away from me.” Looking up at the sudden sound of a woman crying, Trowa realized Noin was still in the room. Noin pulled herself up to face them. “I’m so sorry Quatre.. I never meant to drive you away.. I didn’t realize you weren’t really interested in me, and I was falling in love with you. I never meant to hurt you like that.” Dashing the tears from her cheeks, she walked over to kiss Quatre softly on the forehead. As she turned to walk away, two hands caught her arm, holding her fast. “Don’t you see? I have to leave!” Shouting angrily, she completely broke down. “I love Quatre, and I’m only going to get in the way. It isn’t right for me to interfere. I don’t have any place to be in his life.” Shaking herself free, she fell against the wall and cried.
It's hard to believe some body tricked you When you can see you were only high It's all up to you so you gamble Flat on your face and into the fire...
“You told me all you wanted was to forget about Zechs. Would it have been so hard to tell me the truth, rather than trying to trick me?” Quatre whispered, struggling to his feet. “Didn’t you think that I would have told you from the beginning if I wanted more than friendship?” Nodding her head numbly, she met his eyes. “I don’t know why you love me..” Quatre said, suddenly bitter. “All I ever did was use you. You did the same thing the pills did.. helped me forget for a little while. I didn’t want to live after Trowa left. I only stayed because you helped me forget for awhile.” Holding his hands out to Noin, he helped her to her feet. “If it wasn’t for you, I would never have gotten this far. I’m sorry.” He pulled her into his arms, stroking her hair. Trowa came up behind them and embraced them both. “Let’s take a chance and try this together.” Trowa whispered. “We don’t have anything else to lose.” |
