Subject: God works

Beloved in Christ,

It is a priviledge to write to you and to relate my testimony.

I was a Moslem and a retired military top officer in Nigerian Army that served under the past military regime. I was the financial secretary to the Armed Force Ruling Council (AFRC). With my position as a financial secretary, I was able to divert up to $20, 000, 000.00(Twenty million U.S Dollars, into my personal Bank Account, hoping to invest the money when I?m retired. Immediately I got retired, I was converted from Moslem to Christian when I was preached the words of God through my cousin Pastor Paul Osakwe.I then gave my life to Christ and became a born again Christain.

Since I gave my life to Christ, I had no rest of mind. Some times I think of the souls I killed when I was a soldier and the dubious ways I diverted my country?s money into my Personal Bank Account. I then decided to seek the face of God for forgiveness and after fasting and prayer through Divine Revelation, the Almighty God revealed to me that the only way I could have rest of mind is when I used all my money to do the work of God. I immediately disclosed my revelation to my Pastor and he was happy with me.

I have been thinking of the particular thing to do for my God before this present civilian president of my country set up a panel(Honourable Oputa Panel) to probe the Bank Account of the past Military officers like me.Instead of loosing this money to my government, I quickly withdrew my money out of my Account and deposited the money in a finance and security company for safety.

My Pastor has adviced me to sneak out of the country with the money to sow it into a ministry abroad. I have decided to sow this money into your ministry. I am making arrangement to come over to your country but you need to receive this money from the finance and security company in cash before I come over. The cash has been packaged by the security company in consignments and ready for shipment but the security company requires the address of the receiver. Please send to me your names, address and your telefax number where I can fax the Airway Bill to you for claim of the consignment over there.

I look forward to your response

God bless you.

My dear deacon Bello Williams,

It is really a miracle worked by the Lord, that of all the churches in the world, you have chosen the Archdiocese of St. Fladderack in Saaftinge, here in the Republieck Rottumerplaat, to be the benificiary of these funds. Our church being in very bad repair and needs restoration; a lot of money is needed for the Christian orphanage and our TV-show on the Christian Pornography Channel, not to mention the Christian St. Flamoes-Hospital for venereal diseases.

My name is Dr. Max Wieldruk and I am the bishop of the diocese, and chairman of the other institutes I mentioned.

We may thank the Lord that you found us. I would like to hear more.

Yours in the Lord,

My son,

I would call you on the phone if I could, but as I told you the telephone cable next to the church was severely damaged. Not only our church was disconnected from the phone, but in fact the entire neighbourhood. I will see if I can get to a public phone booth today but I'm not sure if I will be able to manage. I hope they are are still working. Even the post office is disconnected from the telephone network. I might even try to buy one of these new-fangled cell phones but they have to imported from Denmark and they don't come cheap.

You talked about travelling to my country, the wonderful Republieck Rottumerplaat. In doing so, you would have to adopt the Gospel of St. Fladderack (considered apocryphal by many) as the only True Gospel. It is the only religion here in Rottumerplaat. Are you prepared to do this? I will expect your anser to this question before we can proceed.

You asked me to travel to Malaysia. That doesn't seem to be a problem. When will you expect me to arrive, so I can start booking a flight.

Yours,

Couldn't we simply send a cheque or something? I dont know a thing about Western Union, I don't even think we have it here in Rottumerplaat.

You indicated that you would like to come to Rottumerplaat. In my previous e-mail I indicated that you will have to adopt St. Fladderack's as the only true gospel. [The passport picture will be recognized at once by anyone living in the low countries. This is no other than Sinterklaas, also called Sint Nicolaas. He is the Dutch (and original!) version of Santa Claus. His feast is celebrated on 5 December. Children receive gifts from Sinterklaas, and also adults exchange gifts in his name. Weeks before 5 December Sinterklaas arrives in the Netherlands, and is heartily welcomed by the mayor in every town and village. Sinterklaas is always dressed in full bishop's regalia (they are expensive costumes!) and for abvious reasons wears long white hear and a beard. It's a children's feast which we take very seriously here. People over eight years old who still believe in Sinterklaas are very rare. Oh, and one thing: in this picture the role of Sinterklaas is played by Dr. Max Wieldruk himself!]

Daddy, concerning what you ask me about Western union, Western Union is the faster and easiers way you can send money to anybody in the whole world and the person you send the money will receive it immediately, the only way you can send the money is through your bank or any nearest Supermarket to you or a post office, or you can go to near by country like Denmark, Holland. Daddy, I will be coming to Rottumerplaat as soon the fund get to your costody and i agree to adopted St. Fladderack's as the only true gospel in my life, i will agree on any rule and regulations of St. Fladderack's so go ahead and tell me the form of Rituals to be converted to the Fladderackite creed. Dear Deacon Williams,

Now wait a minute, you are hurrying a bit. I have a church service to lead next Sunday, so I cannot possibly start for Malaysia until next Monday.

Moreover, before we continue, I would like to draw your attention to the following. You hear so many strange things these days. Dear Deacon Bello Williams, I have sent you my picture and my passport. I do not know what you look like, or who you are.

Before coming over to Rottumerplaat you will have to be converted to the creed of the gospel of St. Fladderack, and you agreed to do this. The rituals of conversion are quite complex, you will have to be baptized again in our church among other things. The credo of our religion is (it is in our local language, in Dutch): IK GELOOF IN SINTERKLAAS. This, in translation, means: I believe in the gospel of St. Fladderack, Dutch being a very quaint language…

For the time being, it will suffice for you have your picture taken, holding a paper with IK GELOOF IN SINTERKLAAS written clearly on it. Please send or e-mail this photo to me. As a bishop I will accept this as a token of your faith and moreover it will help me recognize you when we meet in Malaysia. I think I can come over somewhere next week.

About this payment by Western Union: as a bishop I know little of these things, thanks for your kind explanation but this did not really help me. I know all about the gospel, but nothing about banking. You want me to keep the whole thing a secret. Would it be alright if I asked my banker, Mr Cas te Kort to help me get this money to you? He knows everything about banking matters, and I trust him in these things. He's also a personal friend.

And one more thing. You call me 'Daddy' all the time. Although I appreciate your trust in me, this is not a proper form of address of a bishop. Please call me 'Your Lordship'.

I send you St. Fladderack'' s blessing,

=====

Subject: Ready to go to Malaysia

My dear friend Deacon Bello Williams,

As I was still too weak this morning, I could not attend the service in our church personally, unfortunately. But I feel much better now. As I really appreciate your more than generous gesture towards our archdiocese, I have instructed my banker to forward the money to Mr.Chinedu Onuoha in Lagos in Nigeria. The bank will be open again next monday, I think that will be allright with you. I remember your saying it was a thousand euros? Mr Onuoha must be a really friendly gentleman to collect the money on your behalf.

The flight to Malaysia has been booked. I will leave by train from Saaftinge in the Republieck Rottumerplaat for Amsterdam in the Netherlands tomorrow. It's a slow train. I will arrive in Amsterdam on 3 February and I will depart from Schiphol Airport for Malaysia at 12.00 hours. The plane will arrive in Kuala Lumpur on 4 February 2004 at 07.10 local time, the flight number is KL4103. I may not have access to my e-mail in the mean time, but I will see if I can check my e-mail at the airport.

Can someone from the security company meet me at the airport in Kuala Lumpur? The creed of St. Fladderack ordains that the archbishop is always to travel in his bishop's attire, which is colored red and gold. That should make it easier to recognize me. Moreover, I may be recognized by my white beard and white hair. Could the person from the security company hold a sign at the airport with our credo 'IK GELOOF IN SINTERKLAAS'? I would like to travel incognito to keep our project a secret, as you rightly suggested. This sign (being in Dutch) will not arouse any suspicion in Malaysia, I presume. I have booked a room in the China Town Inn, 52 - 54 Jalan Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. [Very cheap hostel…] I may be reached there by telephone I suppose. I found that there is an Internet Cafe in Kuala Lumpur on 23, Jalan Petaling so during my stay in Kuala Lumpur we'll be able to keep in touch through e-mail at any rate.

I received your photo but it was probably damaged during forwarding it as an e-mail attachment, I could not open it. You will be very welcome in Rottumerplaat, but as I wrote to you earlier you will have to adopt the Fladderackite belief. For me to make sure you are willing to be converted to our religion please send a photo of yourself holding a paper with our creed 'IK GELOOF IN SINTERKLAAS'.

There is one thing I do not quite understand yet. Am I going to meet you yourself in Malaysia, or someone from the security company? If so, what is the name of the security company, and what is the address? I suppose that there are documents to be singed. Are these the only formalities? Of course I'll bring some money along to pay for my stay. And I have promised to visit my collaegue Dr. Chong Lei, the bishop of St. Mary's Cathedral. It's been a long time since we last met.

Well, that's all for now. I really look forward to my trip to Malaysia.

I send you the Most Holy Blessing of St. Fladderack,

Subject: Arrived Schiphol Airport

Dear Deacon Bello Williams,

I have safely arrived at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. I just popped into the internet cafe. Thank you for informing me that Mr Danny Makwaelo will meet me at the airport.

I just had a funny experience. Someone at the airport spotted that I was a bishop and asked me a favour: I am to take his suitcase to Kuala Lumpur, as his own luggage was overweight and I always travel light. It's a pleasure to be able to help a fellow-human being with small things like these.

I'll be seeing Mr Makwaelo in Kuala Lumpur. I suppose banker Cas te Kort has paid you the 1.000 euros by now. I must fly now.

St. Fladderack's blessings,

=====

Dear Mr Bello Williams,

As a banker, I know about international banking.

That's why I asked your international bank number and swift code etc. If you had given me this information I could have sent you the money by telegraphic transfer, and you would have had it in your possession now.

I really do not understand why you insist on paying you through a third party, Mr Chinedu Onuoha. Archbishop Dr Wieldruk, before he left for Malaysia, insisted on my treating this whole affair with utter confidence, although I do not know the reason for this. His holiness insisted that no one was to be informed about this project apart from himself, myself as his banker, and you, being a deacon of the church in your country. So that does not include Mr Onuaha. Unless you make absolutely clear to me that this person is to be trusted and acts on your behalf, I will be unable to send the money to Mr Onuaha.

Even then, I will require Mr Onuaha's bank number and further relevant information in order to transfer the money. Our bank being an international bank we have no need of Western Union to transfer an amount to you.

I would like to call you on the phone about this matter, but the telephone cable next to the church was severely damaged recently, leaving a large part of our town without telephone connection, including our office, which is indeed a bit of a problem.

Yours,

=====

Dear Mr Bello Williams,

I told you before that Dr. Max Wieldruk asked me to send you a thousand euros and to keep the whole affair strictly confidential. I really do not understand you. Dr. Wieldruk never mentioned Mr. Onuoha to me. Mr Onuoha may well be a churchgoer, but to me that does not mean that I am to pay the amount to him just based on your e-mail message. To me he is still a third party not involved in this payment. I know my responsibilities as a banker; I must make sure the money is received by the right person.

To make matters worse in this confidential project, you have now involved a Mr. Yu Shu Foon in Hong Kong. What will happen next, are you going to publish this confidential project in the newspapers?

I can only remit the 1000 euros to you, and if I must remit them to a third party, I will require a written deed of cession, duly signed etc.

Yours sincerely,

=====

Subject: Dr. Max Wieldruk

Dear colleague Bello Williams,

Please do not be disturbed about this mail as I am contacting you for the first time through this medium. My name is Jan Dorie and I am the deacon of St. Fladderack's Cathedral here in Saaftinge.

The archbishop, Dr. Max Wieldruk, was on his way, apparently for a business transaction with you in Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately, he was arrested at Schiphol airport in the Netherlands prior to boarding his plane, so we were informed by the police. He was accused of trying to smuggle drugs out of the country. Apparently the bishop defended himself by declaring that he only wanted to help a fellow-man by offering to take someone's suitcase to Malaysia. It turned out, however, that this suitcase was filled to the brim with cocaine.

The transaction in which the bishop was given this suitcase is apparently recorded on video through CCT. However, Dutch police are still investigating the matter.

That is all we know and it seems that the bishop is now pining away in a police cell in the Netherlands.

I regret any inconvenience this may cause you and remain,

Jan Dorie,

Deacon,

St. Fladderack's Cathedral
