From Max Wieldruk to Jose Randy |
Dear Jose, A dreadful thing happened here today in Saaftinge. Mr. Onno Verwonnen, one of the employees of banker Cas te Kort, was sent to Denmark to see to the payment of the 300 dollars by Western Union, needed for this transaction. As I told you: we expected a snowstorm yesterday. Mr Verwonnen was lost in the snowstorm yesterday and was found this morning, frozen to death in his car. I'm not quite sure whether the payment is on its way now or not; but that is not important right now. Mr Verwonnen lost his life and, come to think of it, I am to blame. My friend Cas te Kort is in police custody at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if the police were to come to interrogate me as well. I feel so dreadfully guilty and sorry about what happened, I really don't know what to do. Your brother, in tears, ===== Dr. Max Wieldruk 1012 AA Saaftinge, Rottumerplaat |
After this, Max will leave Jose and his banker friends to simmer for a couple of days... |
