| This year I have had one family member and a close friend diagnosed with breast cancer and another young family member diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Research into cancer is therefore an issue close to my heart. |

| On a recent trip to The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, I was shocked to see photos of the reef which has deteriorated so very much in recent years. The marine environment has been damaged forever, many places throughout the world have also experienced similar damage to their habitats. Dolphins, whales, turtles, manatees and many other amazing sea creatures have lost their lives due to man's insensitivity and disregard for the marine environment. I often think of the plight of these creatures and how much our world and our children will miss them when they are gone. Action needs to be taken by concerned citizens to save our oceans and the innocent creatures that live therein. |

| Rising Daughters Aware Female Genital Mutilation |
| Not only the sea creatures suffer from the impact of man on their environment - so too our precious wildlife that walk this earth with us. Their habitats are destroyed in the name of "progress" ecosystems annihilated by those greedy for financial gain. When will man realise that to destroy the rainforests and other wildlife habitats will impact on our very survival, not only the beautiful creatures that live there. |
