I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord,But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this ,the fourth, the fifth,

Mayflower gets close to Jeff Buckley in 2003

Mayflower begins its 2003 season this sunday tackling its most ambitious programme to date.

Mayflower’s 2003 show is entitled ‘Hallelujah’ and presents the singing
voice of Jeff Buckley combined with the song writing skill of Leonard Cohen.

Staff for 2003 includes designer - Michael Shapiro, director- Rob Da Costa
together with Dave Parris, Amanda Castell, Jack Shallow and Emma Edwards.
Mayflower is very pleased to welcome Emma onto staff for the 2003 season.
Most recently, Emma was caption head for the award winning Encore Drum &
Bugle Corps’ guard and has taught and marched with long time rival, Concord
winter guard.

Mayflower will march approx. 22 members with an average age of 19.

This year sees Mayflower focusing its season entirely on the WGI circuit with
some exhibitions in the UK.  Rob Da Costa explained, “2003 is our most
ambitious season to date both in terms of travel plans and show concept.  We
decided to focus our season entirely on WGI, taking a season out of our local
circuit, WGUK.  This will enable us to programme our season more effectively
for the longer WGI year.  However, whilst it also means we are accepting any
age members, we will in fact only be marching 2 vets over the age of 25.”

Mayflower will travel to Boston at the beginning of February to take part in
the New England Regional hosted by long time friends, Blessed Sacrament.
Both Mayflower World and Mayflower ‘A’ will then travel to Holland to
compete in the WGI European Regional.  The World guard will then travel to
Dayton Ohio to compete in the WGI Championships in the IW class.

Mayflower hopes to perform in exhibition at 2 WGUK shows - one in the south
and one in the midlands.   Mayflower will also run its own show on January
4th 2003 in Brentwood, Essex.  This will be one of only 3 occasions where
people will be able to see Mayflower World perform in the UK.  It will also
mark its debut performance.  It is also hoped that other guards will perform
as well as other arts groups.

For the first time in Mayflower’s history, the organisation will also field 3
other groups who will participate fully in the WGUK circuit in the Cadet,
Junior and A classes.
