Mayflower A Guard
As part of Mayflowers feeder system to its world guard, the ‘A’ guard was created in 2001 to bridge the gap from Junior class to World as well as to provide its members with a chance to further develop their skills and put them to use in a competitive environment.

2003

This year the guard have yet again changed style, and this year will entertain you with a concept based around love.  The piece is supported by the track ‘Come what May which features exclusively in the Motion Picture Moulin Rouge, and is performed by Ewan Mcgreggor and Nicole Kidman.  This year the guard has taken itself even further forward through another level of technical excellence and performance capabilities.

2002

The 2002 year Guard endeavoured to follow in the footsteps of its World guard by reinventing itself and attempting and an all-together different style of show and movement.  In 2002 their show was based around an insanity theme and used the a Beatles track “I am the Walrus!” performed by the actor Jim Carey.  The guard embraced the challenges of this unusual yet comical show, and finished a notable close second place in the WGUK finals at the Brentwood centre.

2001

Their first show was based around the nursery rhyme ‘The Owl and the Pussy Cat’ and used choral music written by John Rutter.  The piece depicted images from the story and flowed much a like a book itself, i.e. left to right.  Being their first year out the members worked extremely hard and the end result was a well-rounded show with a classical style to it.
