What do you want in a potential partner?  It seems that we all automatically start listing qualities by the dozen.  Who doesn't want a great personality, a great sense of humour, and perhaps good looks?  The following is my version of The Rules--what I expect in a current boyfriend(and I'm happppy! Today is my 2 year anniversary w/ my boyfriend).

 1.  You must be able to accept the fact that my parents are unbelievably overprotective.  There's nothing I can do about it.
 2.  Never do I want to hear the words: "Honey, I think you are so beautiful..have you ever thought about wearing contacts??".  Thanks for appreciating both my inner and outer beauty.
 3.  Please take care of yourself as much as you take care of me.  I want to be w/ you a long long time.
 4.  I love how you sing to me, and how you kiss me on my nose...never stop doing these lil things that show how much you care and adore me.
 5.  and sometimes I just be there with you--no distractions, no thinking about work/school, no cell phones, no tv, no music---I just want to take a moment for us.  Everything else can wait.

Hmm..I only came up w/ 5!  andI believe I have big expectations; my friends and my boyfriend know that I never settle for less.  Life is too great to not want more out of everything.  Here is the link to a site about the real RULES from the book The Rules by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider.  I don't necesarily go by them because I find them a bit too much for the 21st century.  Women should have the freedom to make the first move, which I don't think is desperate.  BUT I do believe that old fashioned romance is fun..and of course romantic!

This article is dedicated to the special one in my life. Happy anniversary. 1437 <3
