What's New? January 2002 |
1/2/2002 - Happy New Year's all! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I started my New Year's weekend off by going to Saddle Ranch with my girlfriends, Dienah & Becky. We met a few guys there Marty, Jeff, & Robby. Marty & Jeff are "actors", while Robby used to play Hockey for the New York Rangers. Marty was recently seen in America's Sweetheart (one of the security guards busting John Cusack's character) and Jeff was in the AAA commercial as the guy who was being hauled away for DUI. We went to see Marty perform at the Laugh Factory - he was pretty funny! We enjoyed the show and the guys' company! For New Year's Eve, the single chicks - tara, erin, & I picked Dan up to go to a party that Kenny was throwing at his loft in Downtown LA. First of all, we called dan to tell him that we were 2 blocks away. He must've been primping because we were sitting around waiting for him while being accosted by this homeless guy who kept pointing at me and crossing his 2 index fingers in a "shame on you" motion. Uh huh...WHATever... Secondly, when we get to Kenny's loft, it's across from another "ethnic" party. We had to wait around downstairs until someone heard us calling to let us in. We almost succumbed to defeat and was jokingly abut to cross the street to go to the other "ethnic" party. well, that's about all I've done this weekend. Hope your New Year's was GREAT!! |
01/03/2002 - Yay, me!! I just won $9 in the super lotto. :) (hey, it beats all you losers!!) I got 2 numbers plus the mega number. I went to get my facial yesterday. Dermabrasion & Acid peel. I'm hoping to get rid of all my old agedness. Getting old SUCKS!! It's expensive, too. The things women do! It's almost RIDICULOUS...yet i will continue and forge on...Yeah, there's a lot of logic there. I'm reading the new Dean Koontz book. His books have not been so freaky lately. Some of his books went through this really freaky stage that I almost lost interest in reading his books. Just finished reading "see jane date" - it's pretty funny. Some parts I can relate to, others are just too weird even for me. I'm on this kick where I want to try to read 2 - 3 books each month. All pleasure reading, no brainer type of books. Recommendation of the day : i have a lot of hair and it takes me forever to dry it. Miles & Aya got me a ionic hairdryer from sharper image. It cuts down my drying time in half. I love it. Now I sleep in even later than i normally do. Restaurant Recommendation of the Month: Joe's restaurant in Venice. I've only been there twice, but the food has been primo each time. Try the roast beef dish - Joe Miller does his beef REALLY well there!! |
01/08/2002 - We had our year beginning party at Universal Studios yesterday, followed by dinner at Jillians. It was only ok. No biggie. Went on a few rides, got sick on back to the future (mental note to self - NEVER go on that ride agian), had lunch...should've seen a movie instead. It was kinda boring...and too long. I saw Lord of the Rings on Saturday. I actually liked it. I've heard mixed reviews from people, but I'm glad i saw it. |
1/14/2002 - Ok, painfully, i have started somewhat of an uncommitted diet...at least I have decided to make the effort to exercise and eat right. I knew when my fat clothes started to pinch, it was time. *SIGH*...well, at least I had an enjoyable holiday season. Friday nite I went to Senoritas in Hollywood with Becky. We were meeting her new best friend, Marty, there. Halfway through dinner I turned around and realized that an entire CROWD converged upon the bar area. I hadn't even noticed. Upon further inspection, I noticed some of the most FINEST men in LA milling about. Wow. Need to go back THERE again. (The Mexican Cobb Salad was really good, too!) Saturday nite, I went to Europa with bert, raye, & erin. Very tasty food there. Definitely worthy of a go-back. Today, I'm off to sample Chadwick's with dina. You know, my dream would be that we would run into harrison ford there, but we all know that if i really did meet him (he's at the top of my top 10 list) i'd start choking on my food. Well, i'll let y'all know how it was! |
1/15/02 - Dina & I went to Chadwicks last nite. It was just ok. The portions were RIDICULOUSLY small and the prices were astronomical. We also met Benjamin Ford, Harrison's son...alas, no harrison. :( My expectations of Chadwicks was a lot different from the reality. Since the restaurant is known for its use of organic foods, I assumed it would be a more health consciously geared restaurant. Instead, the food tended to be drenched in butters & oils. Mind you, I decided to go all vegeterian thinking that I would be "good" and eat healthy. That really wasn't the case. I don't know if this place warrants a return visit. Well...I've decided to link up to dina's restaurant review section. I will periodically send in reviews of restaurants that I've tried as well. If you are interested in doing a review, just let me know! |
