What's New -August 2003
August 25: 2003:  This weekend was a pretty slow weekend.  On Saturday, after enjoying a good solid 12 hours of sleep, I took my mom to the Orange County Swap Meet.  We picked up some suitcases (GREAT DEAL!) for our travels (hers to China, mine to replace a carry-on that's shot).    My folks and I hooked up with Bert & Raye at Paco's Tacos for dinner.  Man, I think I may have a problem with alcohol.  I had 2 margarita's and a shot of tequila.  When my folks asked us what we were drinking, we both responded (without missing a beat), "Water".  Needless to say, immediately after dinner I went to sleep...for 14 hours.

I come into work this morning and this is the email I get from my nephew:

Hey Auntie Jen,

n Sarday it's my birthday. Try the best you can to make it. If you can't at least leave me a present.

Mark

I'm still trying to figure out if this is really from Mark or from my brother, Andy, just trying to be funny.  If this is from my nephew...oh boy...he's getting clothes.  Nerdy, school clothes.

August 21, 2003:
For the record, my lame web geek (who I idolize and worship) posted the 2 previous postings without my permission.  He doesn't have a lot to do in his spare time, so he chooses to torment me.   Onto the REAL post:

Montreal was an incredible city!  I had a great time while i was there.  After I flew in and checked into my hotel, I had to go down for a cocktail reception.  YAWN!!  Pretty boring.  I called my Meeting Mgr, Katie and told her that if she had ANY love for me at all, she would pull me out of that thing.  She made me promise to stay at least for another 45 minutes.  I ducked & dodged people whenever I could, just so that I would be left alone.  (Me, antisocial - who knew??)

It was great meeting up with the peeps from Conferon!  We went to a gay bar in the city.  I REALLY hate techno, but that's what we were dancing to.  The next morning was a tour around the city - i may be wrong about this, but the last time I checked, i should NOT being feeling the world spinning on its axis.  I felt like CRAP.

This was followed by a lunch (noticed the cute photographer!) and a walking tour of the city.  By this time, I was really ready to roll over & die.  This didn't happen.  That evening, we had a reception at a location on top of the city.  Really quite beautiful.

On my last day, I had to go to meetings with vendors.  I had drinks with several of them, so I had just insisted that I win something (packages to the resort).  I think I may have won the Marriott Desert Springs one.  Another vacation for me!  :)  I finally had 45 minutes to shop.  Not nearly enough time!!  I was so sad!!  I'll just have to go back!!!  Anyone want to go?

By the way, the Wyndham Montreal has the most beautiful sales manager there!  We're talking Pierce Brosnan gorgeous.  *SIGH*...

Well, that was my week - nothing interesting going on....

August 11, 2003:
Last week wasn't too eventful.  I got signed up for a basketball tournament.  What a joke.  Have you seen me play?  Yeah.  Exactly.  Miles, it looks like you have your work cut out for you.  I start playing on Tuesday.

I think I may have issues with alcohol.  I drank 5 out of the last 7 days.  Lot's of margarita's with beth, my co-worker.  I went to a bar with Erin, Christy, and the gang at The Room in Santa Monica.  The place itself was cool - the DJ sucked. It's amazing how a bad DJ really ruins an experience.

I got my car detailed today.  It's smoother than a baby's butt.  However, my cup holder insert was taken & not returned!!  :(  My friend actually called me a lazy hag b/c I didn't do it myself.  Come on - is that so wrong?

So I moved my desk area so I wouldn't get in trouble for talking/goofing around, etc.  Apparently, I got in trouble anyhow.  I was on my way out to lunch, when beth got her arrangements critiqued.  it only took 5 minutes.  We were back in less than an hour.  We got busted for "goofing around".  PUH-LEEEEZE.  So, no talking for jenny (mind you, this isn't Schwarzkopf...i keep to myself for the most part.)

I'm leaving for Montreal next Sunday, so my next update may be delayed.

August 4, 2003:   Tahoe was great!  I was there from Thursday to Sunday.  Friday, I went fishing (i caught the first fish) and Saturday I almost went ATVing.  I say almost b/c it started raining (i was only wearing shorts) and the guide was really freaking me out (don't let your foot off the guard - you may break your ankle!).  Ann (Sales rep) & I decided to go into town while Keith (another sales rep) went on the ATV ride.  It was a lot of fun!  Overall, the weekend was great.  The food was great at all the places, but Llewellyn's at Harvey's was the best!

Bad news - i was supposed to move into my grandparents house, but my uncle changed his mind, so no go on the house.  I'm really disappointed, but everything happens for a reason.  I'm sure something else will come up.
