March/April 2003
I have to say Sasha must be one of the most unusual cancer cases!  Those tumor blow ups on her belly have slowed, actually her belly almost feels normal and she eats like a horse still and plays like a mad cat (as you can see she is very playful in her recent picture).  The only oddities I note about her is her water consumption has increased significantly and she is in the litter box much more -and I don't need to be a vet to know that is a sure sign of Kidney issues.  The other is the protruding tumors on her belly are less so I would have to assume they have decided to take an inward turn instead of pushing out through the teat areas.
She does show some problems with jumping up on high things from time to time and she will not jump up far if she can find a way around it- I'm sure her belly must hurt to stretch out or be jostled so much (since she is not a small kitty!) so I've rearranged things about so she can still enjoy the windows and make it up on the bed easy with a mini jump in between :)

Other than that I know I've gotten a lot of emails about her so I am somewhat shocked and happy to report she is STILL being a brave little trooper and frankly after all this time I tend to forget she is riddled with mammary cancer -she behaves anything but!  I'm sure it's a minor thing though and since she has been doing so well over all this amazing time it is bound to catch up with her- but regardless I'm proud of my little gal and beyond happy to see her still romping about!
