I apologize but since Sasha has been fairly well I didn't update for February, I also was rather busy with other things and couldn't find the time to get on here! In the time since I last updated, Sasha's neck is doing much better, in fact almost all of the fur has grown back and she is as playful as ever. I do notice some of the tumors that are about her teats are getting larger though, so she has been licking at them more. For now though none have opened or are leaking and I can only hope the vet was right in his assumption she'll last for the year. It seems to me since her shot and her antibiotics her tummy area has gotten a bit worse -with the tumors growing and such but that could just be in my head, Sasha is by far not a good patient and keeping her stationary to check these things out is almost impossible! Crystal is still glued to her side, and they've started to play more together. Sasha has finally stopped living in the closet - for the last several months she made a shelf in the pantry her home -to be alone and not be bothered with Crystal and such but more often than not she isn't hanging out in there anymore but curls up on the den bed with lil Crystal glued to her. Since Sally had mentioned about her Scarlett snoring and such I should mention that Sasha does do this as well, not all the time but here and there she does, from what the vet mentioned to me it's not that the tumors are in the lungs, he said I'd know because she would be panting or have extrememly labored breathing, but more so that they are pushing on the lungs in a way and some other things he mentioned that to my shame I've forgotten -I'm sorry!! But Scarlett isn't alone in her behaviour, Sasha does exibit many of the same traits, although I could never hope to get a onsey on her -she would have that torn to shreds if I tried (lol) all I do is try to spoil her and make her have fun as much as I can. I do believe if I had made the vet take her original tumor out back in the beginning she wouldn't be alive now, since the others would've consumed her faster so for that I'm thankful he didn't pressure me into her having the surgery. So far so good, and I'll keep you posted! And I also send out my heart to Scarlett and Sally, dealing with this in your pet is just about the hardest thing I've ever had to do and I know how it feels to second guess yourself and worry over every minute detail with them-it's more emotionally draining than anything and I do pull for Scarlett. I noticed Sasha will no longer eat like she used to-perhaps not a good sign, since she was a little pig before. She doesn't care much for her treats or tuna and pretty much will only eat on her dry food. But I did discover she has a passion for chocolate milk- I had a gallon from the store the other day and left a glass out when I ran to get the phone and when I returned her little face was in it and she had chocolate milk on her chin (grin) so you can imagine she is having that now and then for a treat. According to my sis Shaver (who's beloved Abbott is in the memorial section) used to give her terminal pet that and for some reason that is going over good these days. Boy Sasha is a toughy to spoil when nothing seems to amuse her! Kit- March 5, 2002 |
