Illinois is famous for quality goose hunting. Our migrant flocks of Canada geese stage in this area for weeks at a time. Our club features hundreds of acres of harvested grain fields which attract thousands of Canada geese and ducks.

WHAT TO BRING ON YOUR HUNT

We have found the most successful way to harvest geese is with a 12 gauge shotgun chambered either 3 or 3 1/2" or 10 guage chambered 3 1/2". Recommended shot size is #2 and BB for ducks. For geese we recommend BB or BBB in steel or #2 or BB in bismuth or Tungsten. In addition we suggest you wear waterproof boots and outer wear (Camo preferred). Even though the majority of our hunts are from heated and buried pits we may have to walk to the pits in inclement weather. We also highly suggest a small duffel bag to organize your shells, gloves, etc. In addition we suggest soft gun gases as they are more readily stored in the pits. Licensing information can be found at our link to the IDNR for both resident and non-resident hunters. Please no bright colored clothing such as hunter orange caps, gloves, coats, etc. for waterfowl hunting!

The harvest allocation quota for migrating geese is expected to be 80,600 with 38,900 allocated to the Central Zone this year ! This is a tremendous opportunity to goose hunt in Illinois and enjoy a hunt of a lifetime. Also, there is a 2 goose per day limit.

Our club features heated buried pits which can comfortably accomodate up to five goose hunters and their gear. Hunt over some of the finest goose and duck decoys available. Your hunt will be with a professional goose guide that will make every effort to assure your success in the field.

The MAZONIA HUNT CLUB is located within an hours drive of Chicago or Bloomington, IL. Take Interstate 55 to exit 227 (Gardner, IL) east on Main Street 2 1/4 miles. At the intersection of Main and Coster Road turn left (North) approximately 1 mile to 6835 Coster Road.
