Pulled camper mostly off the platform with the pickup, to gain hoist rolling room.
Assembled engine hoist (I gave in and bought a new one).
Removed front bumper.
Attached short loop of chain to block with 2 short "headbolts" bought from hardware store.
Hooked up hoist, lifted, pulled.
Oops - backup light wire still connected. Disconnected it.
More lifting, more pulling - came right out,
Yanked the hoist around, backed the pickup under it.
Deposited engine/transmission on large wood blocks on pickup bed.
Pickup front bumper doesn't meet camper bumper - pushed it back to platform by hand.
Of course it stopped with the back wheels not rolling up over the platform edge.
Brought the pickup around to pull the camper on the rest of the way.
In the process, the engine fell off the blocks in the pickup bed. Hope it's ok - too dark to tell.
