Why did 
create this site? |

I have several reasons for creating the site. First, I enjoy
creating Web sites. I have always enjoyed creating things. There
is a good feeling associated with putting your "heart and
soul" into a project that turns out successful. Some other
items I have successfully created are business and marketing
plans, architectural drawings and models, and individual pictures
and photo albums. |

Another reason for creating the site is easy access to notes
and reference material on a variety of subjects. While finishing
my undergraduate degree at St Mary’s University, I found
I wanted to refer back to books I had read but wondered - which
book? I am able to speed read but rereading a couple of books
to find the info seemed like a lot of extra work. My solution
was to make notes while reading the books. It may take me a
lot longer to read a book but I can easily access the set of
notes I created. The idea works well except for when I have
my notes at a different location. My solution is to copy my
notes into a Web page and post them on a site where I can access
them from almost any place in the world. Due to my lack of spare
time, it may be some time before I post many of the notes. |

An additional reason for creating this Web site is a few years
ago I became interested in knowing more about the history of
my ancestors. What I’ve found is gaps in the information
obtained from relatives. (I probably haven’t asked the
right questions). I’ve found some great information by
accessing sites on the Internet. I’m hoping any family
information I post will assist someone else in researching their
family. If we are related, please send me any information you
have on our families so that I may share it with others. Information
which I believe would be interesting to others would be stories
passed down, old pictures (and recent ones of your family so
we can put a face to name), receipts or anything else that might
have historic significance. I do not want you to part with the
originals!! Please send me digital copies so that I may post
them for all to enjoy. [Due to the number of aunt and uncles
who have passed away -- this has become a major focus] |
