Bass Guitar | ||||||||||||||||||||
DAN HUGHART has been well known on the California country music scene for over twenty-five years, first as a drummer, and now as a bass player, with many of the best bands around. Dan has worked with many of the best country music talents that California has to offer such as Jann Browne (Curb Records), Heather Myles (Rounder Records), George Highfill (Warner Bros.), as well as independent recording artists such as Travis Parker, Kevin Banford, Rick Shea, Patty Booker, Dean Dobbins, Kate E. Oyler, and the now Nashville based Dyer's Daughters (yes, those girls!). Dan's bass playing is highly influenced by teachers Keith Rosier, studio legend Carol Kaye, six string jazz bassist Todd Johnson, as well as some special friends, most notably David Hungate (Toto, Shania Twain, Boz Scaggs, and many other major artists). Dan also appeared on the motion picture soundtrack with Mr. Dyer's Daughters for the film "Letters From A Killer" starring Patrick Swayze. Dan also is well known for his sense of very dry and/or cynical humor, which is, unfortunately, lost on some. |
