Sour Dough Starter

**This is not the Bread Recipe**

Ingredients

1/4 pkg granular dry yeast
1 1/4 cup lukewarm water
3/4 - 1 cup flour

Directions

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water.  Test water on wrist; if it feels comfortably warm, it is the right temperature.  If it is too hot, it will kill the yeast.  Stir in 1 cup lukewarm water and 3/4 - 1 cup flour to make a runny batter.  Put the mixture in a small crock or fruit jar covering tightly.  Store in warm place.  Add 1/2 cup of lukewarm water each day for 5 days to keep the batter runny.  **Replace the amount used with more water and flour.
