Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

1 tbsp corn oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 can (28 oz) tomatoes
1/3 cup tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1/2 to 1 tsp dried basil leaves
3/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

Directions

In 3 quart saucepan heat corn oil over medium heat.  Add onion, garlic and parsley.  Cook, stirring, one minute.  In blender container plae tomatoes and cover.  Blend on high speed 30 seconds or until chopped.  Add to onion mixutre.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 45 minutes.  Serve over spaghetti.  *Can add meat and brown with onion mixture.
