There is an incredible array of outstanding Jewish websites that have been developed through the years. One can do anything from shopping for Jewish books, Judaica gifts, & Jewish religious articles at, an exciting new shopping and auction site for the Jewish community to sites like, offering free online classes in everything from Talmud to Jewish parenting. There are sites like, a site that celebrates the Jewish contribution to civilization and is well on its way to being a Jewish biographical encyclopedia and the Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archive where one can view for free many short films documenting the Jewish experience. Other sites like,, and are portals, sites that link like Yahoo, to thousands of Jewish resources on the web. I will be showing you some of these links and some local Orange County Jewish Resources initially in this article. In ensuing articles I will point out more specific Jewish Resources on the Web. I hope you enjoy visiting these sites as much as I enjoyed assembling them.

I will also be posting these sites to a webpage I am currently building and they will be in a form where you can just click on the various links and go to the websites which is much easier and more efficient. It will also be a webpage that links to the Costa Mesa Learning Center's, SeniorNet Website whose mission is to provide older adults education for and access to computer technologies to enhance their lives and enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom.

MavenSearch is the leading directory and search engine for Jewish content related websites. Back in 1994, there were only 10 Jewish related websites on the Internet. Since then, things have changed dramatically - MavenSearch currently lists over 15,000 websites with many new sites being added each week.
A wealth of High Holidays websites
The Shamash Jewish Internet Consortium, a project of Hebrew College, includes texts of the tanach, divrei torah, kosher traveler's database, and mailing list newsletter archives. Shamash is a worldwide consortium of Jewish organizations and enterprises which have come together to create an open Jewish network on the Internet.

Jewishnet Global Jewish Information Network offers a wide range of resources, including links to, and information about, Israeli and Jewish electronic mailing lists.
iGuide is a highly acclaimed guide to WWW sites in Israel and a joint effort by two of Israel's oldest guides formerly named "The (almost) Complete Guide to WWW in Israel", and the technical guide "Israeli Internet". Revised to its current form in April 98, iGuide is the oldest guide in Israel, started in 1994. Then there were only a few dozen, mostly academic web sites in Israel.

Jewhoo is not quite like any other Jewish site on the web. It looks like Yahoo. (The look is, in fact, a parody). But, Jewhoo is NOT a search engine of other Jewish sites.Jewhoo is a site that celebrates the Jewish contribution to civilization and is well on its way to being a Jewish biographical encyclopedia. Famous Jewish or "part" Jewish persons, in a wide variety of fields, are organized by category. You can search for a person by entering his/her name in the search engine. Or you can simply click on a category and enjoy yourself by reading the material on the people in the category.

Web Resources in Jewish History is A collection of quality sites is how they state it, which is a real understatement. Check this site out, it is outstanding, it loads fast, it is very simply laid out and easy to use.
The Jewish History Resource Center is a project of the Dinur Center for Research in Jewish History. Over 6000 links to websites in more than 30 categories dealing with Jewish History are of value to those interested in Jewish History.
