The Sacramento Soches eventually emerged as victors over the Grand River Ghostmen by the score of 1 to 0. Joss gave up the game's only run when Sacramento scored in the bottom of the 7th inning. Grand River threatened in the 9th but Sacramento was able to put down the rally. Rollie Fingers got the save, his 2nd. Buck Guthrie was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely get away that hurt so much - like this one!' |
