Wade Boggs had 3 base hits as the Bat Cracking Bombers topped the Lake Erie
Mohawks in 15 innings by a score of 6 to 5 at Tiger Stadium.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Bat
Cracking pulled the game out in the 15th inning.  Bobby Grich kicked off the
action when he tripled.  Rod Beck then let loose a wild pitch which scored a
run.  Boggs then lined a one-base hit.  Duke Snider came up and he lined a
base-hit, and an error was also committed, making Bat Cracking the victor and
beginning a joyous home town celebration.  Bat Cracking had a total of 14
hits for the game.

The win was credited to Willie Hernandez(1-1) who went 2 innings allowing 1
run. Beck(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He gave up 3 hits and no walks
without retiring a batter.
