First baseman Johnny Mize launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Lake Erie
Mohawks ballclub embarrassed the Harvey Wallbangers by the count of 14 to
3.

Mize had a big day with his bat.  He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd inning,
delivered a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners in the 4th inning and
smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 11th of the season) in the 8th inning.
Lake Erie kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning which saw them plate 5
runs on 5 hits.  Lake Erie simply wore out the Harvey pitching staff, scoring
in 6 different innings.

Pete Alexander(4-3) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Hooks
Wiltse(4-3) was the loser.  By giving up 10 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings his ERA
increased from 3.95 to 5.68.

Mize was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I want to
see how that game looks on paper.'
