Larry Corcoran carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning and second baseman Hank
Aaron had 4 hits at Tiger Stadium as the Bat Cracking Bombers beat the
Sacramento Soches 9 to 0.

Corcoran(4-4) was on top of his game.  He didn't allow much, just 1 hit and 1
walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.66 to 3.90.  The right-handed
Corcoran had his no-hit bid broken up by Carl Yastrzemski who singled with
one out in the 7th inning.  Bat Cracking had 14 hits for the night.

The losing pitcher was Jim Palmer(1-4).  He was knocked around, surrendering 6
runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.  'Corcoran pitched a gem of a game', Sacramento's
manager recounted.  'He kept our batters off balance the entire game.'
