WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Barry Larkin robbed Ty Cobb of a base hit.

Baby Doll Jacobson slammed a homerun at League Park as the Cleveland Mayors
beat the Athens Bobkittens by the count of 6 to 4.

Cleveland had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 3 runs
on 3 hits.  Edgar Martinez got things going when he delivered a one-base hit.
Martinez took his lead and swiped second.  Jacobson then slapped a single.
Cleveland continued their aggressive style with another stolen base.  Spud
Davis stepped into the box and lined a base-hit knocking in a run.  Barry
Larkin kept things alive and drew a walk to load the bases.  George Sisler
was next and he grounded into a double play.  Eddie Collins then drew a walk
to load the bases.  Paul Waner came up and he reached on an error plating one
more runner.  Mel Parnell then uncorked a wild pitch scoring the final run of
the inning.  Cleveland finished with 11 hits while Athens ended up with 5.

Dave Righetti(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Dennis Eckersley recorded his 12th save.  Carl Mays(4-4)
was the loser.  He allowed 5 runs and 11 hits in 7 innings.
