Joe Jackson had 2 base hits and 4 RBI as the Lake Erie Mohawks defeated the N.
Ridgeville Bandits by the score of 7 to 5 at Municipal Stadium.

Lake Erie came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning when they
scored 5 runs on 6 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Jackson who
deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he singled plating two runs.
N. Ridgeville had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Dick Hughes(3-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Hoyt Wilhelm earned his 13th save.  Mel Harder(1-2) ended up with the loss in
relief.  He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.

'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to beat us tonight' N. Ridgeville's
manager said.  'We take these games one day at a time, but this one was hard
to take.'
