Athens ended up with 15 hits for the game while N. Ridgeville had 7. The win was credited to Red Faber(2-0) who went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs. The losing pitcher was Mike Scott(1-1) in relief. He was hit hard and gave up 7 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings. 'Schmidt led the way - we just jumped on his back and let him take us,' Faber said. 'I'm glad I don't have to face him. I'm glad he's on my team.' |
