At Yankee Stadium the Grand River Ghostmen were able to stop their 6 game
losing streak and easily handled the Kelso Hilanders by the score of 7 to
3.

In the 7th inning Grand River scored 5 runs with the help of 5 hits.  The
highlight belonged to Mickey Mantle who excited the crowd when he popped a
two-run clout over the fence (his 23rd of the season).  Grand River had 9
hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Addie Joss(6-5) who went 7 innings allowing 2 runs.
Bob Feller(5-8) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits
and 5 walks.

'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Buck
Guthrie, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'
