Bat Cracking never recovered after Kelso took the lead in the 3rd inning scoring 2 runs on 4 hits. After an out was recorded, Pete Rose was the sparkplug when he slapped a single. Feller stepped up next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Cuyler then banged out a single which scored a run. Cuyler took second on the throw. Pie Traynor followed and he smacked a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. That scoring would be all that was needed. Kelso managed 10 in their victory. It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Feller(6-8). Willie Hernandez(2-4) took the loss. 'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Kelso's manager, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.' |
