Lefty O'Doul stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Hank Aaron stepped into the box and singled giving Bat Cracking the victory and sending the 49,964 home-town fans home happy. Despite losing, Grand River out-hit Bat Cracking 13 to 10. Hideo Nomo(4-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 innings. Andy Messersmith(1-6) ended up with the loss in relief.
