WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Jeff Kent robbed Eddie Collins of a base hit.

Tip O'Neill had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Network Asc Coliseum where the Lake Erie
Mohawks beat the Cleveland Mayors by the score of 8 to 7.

Cleveland was unable to claim the lead after Lake Erie went ahead in the 4th
inning as they scored 2 runs on 3 base hits.  Cleveland threatened in the 9th
but their rally came up short.

The win was credited to Sandy Koufax(10-5) who went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing
5 runs. Koufax got relief help from John Wetteland who gained credit for his
13th save.  Herb Pennock(4-8) was hit with the loss.  He was unable to
control the Lake Erie offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Koufax, 'I got burned on
a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
