First baseman Johnny Mize jacked one out of the ballyard as the Lake Erie
Mohawks defeated the Cleveland Mayors by the score of 4 to 3 at Network Asc
Coliseum.

Tom Seaver(7-4) gave a fine effort for Lake Erie.  He was reached for 6 hits
and 5 walks in 7 innings.  Lake Erie rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.

Hoyt Wilhelm gained credit for his 23rd save.  The loss was charged to Sid
Fernandez(4-13) in relief.  Lake Erie now has a record of a division leading

division.
