Ernie Lombardi had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cleveland Mayors outscored the
Hinckley Buzzards 7 to 6.

In the 2nd inning Cleveland went on top for good scoring 2 runs.  Home Run
Baker led off and started the attack as he drew a walk.  Edgar Martinez
stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Barry Larkin then drew a walk to
load the bases.  Lombardi came up and he stroked a base-hit driving in a run.
Carl Hubbell stepped into the box and would ground out scoring the final run
of the inning.  Hinckley threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Hubbell(5-11) allowed 3 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. Dennis
Eckersley recorded the save, his 21st.  Don Sutton(8-10) was given the loss.
He pitched 7 innings giving up 7 hits and 5 walks.

'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Hinckley's manager 'But
we have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
